Merry Christmas!
We would like to wish all our Wonderful Guests and Guests to be A Blissfull Holiday Season and A Prosperous Year Ahead!
Instead of Christmas cards and gifts this year we have given a little something to those in greater need than any of us, through UNICEF.
Hope to see you in 2015!

Good Memories…
… are often created at Villa Ottilia when we get a group of people together! To see new friendships flourish, old friendships spring back to life or love grow stronger is like magic to us. All our guests have made a choice to spend their valuable time-off here. A choice that we greatly appreciate and honor, by doing everything we can to make sure you return home with a bouqet of memories.
These are some photos which resemble great memories for us and many more!
We’re on Instagram!
If you want more quick bits of Villa Ottilia this is the place:
Road Trip Salento
A couple of days ago the family packed ourselves in the little Opel and took off to round the “heel of the boot”.
Oria-Otranto via Brindisi/Lecce just to avoid small towns and roads didn’t offer any surprises. As we reached Otranto we parked in one of the big parking lots and strolled down to the harbor. Enjoyed a Pistacchio Gelato and coffee.
We planned to lay on the beach for a while but it was packed and not too appealing so we strolled through the old town and Cathedral.
Then we got back in the car and continued down the coast. Not very easy to find the right way, but after twisting and turning a bit we got onto SP87 to SP358 and stayed on it all the way passing all these lovely places:

Bigger than ours, but now we know what to look forward too! Or maybe it requires stunning views to grow this massively?

This foto doesn’t do justice to the amount of gorgeous mansions here, but as a driver I had to focus on the road instead…. Therefor only this…
We turned back and drove via Gallipoli on the way home, just passing the outskirts as we were all sightseed out! But do we recommend the trip highly!!!
Birthday Celebration at Villa Ottilia
Right now we have a V.I.P guest, my dad! He turned 70 yesterday and despite some recent serious health issues I think he was a true champion, celebrating all day and the final was of course on the dance floor!
Thank You all for yesterday, it was a memorable day for us!
The last 3 weeks in pictures….
Blogging in the midst of summer is not so easy as a B&B owner, luckily! We feel so blessed for having such great guests, wouldn’t wanna change the way Villa Ottilia has turned out to be! A great mix of new guests, returning guests & friends.
This week we’re giving all our attention to one guest, which means that we have a little bit of blooging time available 🙂
Here it goes:

Across the olive groves and wineyards, just a stone throw away we enjoyed a progressive”Carmen” which took us through the Opera and Masseria Terra Marina all at once.

Plums, plums, plums… Three liters of Plum Saunce should get us through the winter and all the dumpling making planned! Might use some for a pork roast as well…
That’s it for today folks, we’ll be back with some party photos next week surely as we are celebrating a 1944 birthday boy for the whole week!!!
Puglia Summer
Busy days has passed and busy days ahead but a quick trip to the beach with a stop at Tutti Frutti was a must do, a very enjoyable must do!
Loquat, Nespola, Mispel…
Got up bright and early yesterday to get my fruits picked before sun would heat them up too much, no risk for that as I instead got drenched in the early morning rain… Anyway, cleaning Nespola in order to make marmelade is quite a task, I think it took me just under 4 hours to clean enough fruit to get me 2,6kg…
We are now offering quite a selection of ecological goodies at V.O. All very locally produced and the latest addition is the home made variety of soaps made by Francesca and sold here. I have been using a lavender scrub for about a week now, liking it a lot!
A pie day!
As a follow up of yesterdays blogg, we made a Rhubarb pie today:
I guess by beeing caught up in using the seasonal harvest we made an Asparagus pie with shrimps and Feta cheese:
Buonanotte Tutti!
Dear Delivery from the North of Sweden
We’ve tried several times to grow “Rhubarb” here, with no luck. Knowing that a garden-lover was about to arrive I very nicely asked if a couple of stems would fit in her suit case. They did!! Tomorrow Rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream, Rossi are you coming? 🙂
We also got “the real version” of a newspaper that we were mentioned in recently, front page foto was a surprise to me! Cool!
Our “BIG” project is ready, we are super happy with the result:
